2012 Workshops and Seminars

"Record Keeping for Success"
& "Creating a Training Program
"
Februray 26, 2011 (Sunday) – 12:30-3:00pm
5414 Danford Dr. westend Billings
(Dragorra Training Building)
$35.00 auditing

**This seminar will show you how you can begin keeping records to
track how you and your dog are doing in competitions.  Keeping
records can show you how effective your current training is and
where there are problems.  You will come away with a number of
different ways to keep records no matter what you plan to do -
training/practice, Comformation, Agility, Obedience or any other dog
sport.  The second half of the seminar will help you learn how to
create and implement a training program tailored to you and your dog
for what ever sport you wish to do.  You will learn how to create and
use a 'training plan worksheet' to keep your training on track and
progressing.

Aromatherapy For You And Your Dog
with Nancy Tanner, CPDT-KA (Paws and People, LLC & The Scent Project)
TO BE RE-SCHEDULED

**Olfaction, or the process of  'smelling', is the dogs primary sense.
Depending on the study you read, a dogs olfactory sense is 1,000 - 10,000
times greater than ours, whatever the number it is safe to say that their
'nose knows'!  For example, a human has 5 million receptors to detect scent,
a dog has 220 million. They are well engaged in the scent world long before
we can detect anything. Using scents to our advantage in training and
modifying emotional responses is very beneficial to our dogs. Aromatherapy
is a useful and powerful tool when combined with training, modifying and
adding new structure to your plan. We have had great success with our
essential oil blends (The Scent Project
@) to assist in creating a calm
environment, hydrosol in home and/or new environments, and single
essential oils when used with a diffuser.  Proper use as well as safety will be
discussed.
(NOTE - synthetic scents such as plug ins, 'spa perfumes', impregnated calming
material for crates, or bathroom aerosols are NOT intended for therapeutic use.  All essential
oils/hydrosols and blends need to be from the best and cleanest plant source possible)
.
